About the Role

Skyline Hire is seeking an organised and commercially minded estimator with experience in crane hire, labour hire, rigging, shutdowns, construction, mining or heavy industry environments. The Crane and Labour Estimator will prepare accurate estimates, review scope requirements, calculate labour and equipment requirements, liaise with operations and support the delivery of clear, practical and competitive quotations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and quotations for crane hire, rigging, labour and associated site works

• Review client requests, scope documents, site requirements and supporting information

• Calculate labour, crane, plant, equipment, travel, mobilisation and allowance requirements

• Liaise with operations, supervisors, crane crews and management to confirm resource requirements

• Review drawings, lift requirements, site constraints and operational considerations where required

• Request supplier, subcontractor or third-party pricing as required for estimates

• Maintain quote records, estimate information and supporting documentation

• Support handover of awarded work to operations to ensure scope, rates and assumptions are understood

• Assist with pricing reviews, margin checks, variations and commercial follow-up as required

• Contribute to consistent estimating processes and continuous improvement across the business

Skills and Experience

• Estimating, quoting or operational coordination experience in crane hire, rigging, labour hire, mining, construction, shutdown or heavy industry environments preferred

• Strong understanding of crane, rigging, labour, mobilisation and site-based work requirements

• Ability to interpret scopes of work, client requirements, site information and operational constraints

• Commercially aware with strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Confident communication skills and ability to work with operations, clients, suppliers and management

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and quoting or job management systems

• Current Australian driver licence preferred

• Pilbara, mining, shutdown, crane or heavy industry experience will be highly regarded
